The condition known as alcoholism is a degenerative and invasive condition. Although alcohol is an legal drug its still a drug, to which one can gain both physical and mental dependencies. The term most commonly used is the D-T’s (delirium tremens) this is a situation where an alcoholic begins to shake uncontrollably due to the lack of alcohol which there body has now become dependent on. Other side effects of alcohol withdrawal are Seizures, Heart Attack and Stroke. When detoxifying anyone from alcohol, very special care should be taken to ensure that none of these health risks are encountered. Success ratio differs greatly between the various platforms of rehabilitation and low success can often be attributed to an inadequate selection of rehabilitation facility. For example, if a person who is not religious were to try and deal with his or her addiction by way of a religious program, much of the program’s curriculum would be lost on that individual.
